Our old time practised activity is to create artistic items using Murano glass materials, which are becoming with the time, more and more requested.
We are the ones you have been looking for to furnish your house with test and perfection. You will only need to contact us for any question or doubt you have regarding the quality or pricing of our product, and for any suggestion you need to adapt them to your environment, from the chandeliers to the ornaments, to the drinking ordinary glasses or for the pieces of collection.
Our job is to give life to the glass with the new colours that fashion calls every year. The basic of the glass is always crystal, which can be decorated with gold 24k , silver, or with transparent or opaque colours. The objects from us produced have the warranty, the name of a greater master (Albino Carrara on the picture) that left his experience to the son (Paolo Carrara) and the nephews.
Chandeliers as bunch of suspending flowers are created by Murano’s Masters with professional knowledge. You will call forth the envy of our friends and family.
MGS is one of the many web-sites trading Murano glass, but also a firm that bases his roots and traditions on the Murano glass “Arts”.
MSG was born from a great Master’s idea, who will be available to tell you about his experience of it.
He started from a very young age to love the glass that the father, Albino Carrara, with his pipe used to take from the chimney inside the kiln and that with precise movements used to animate, giving shape and expression to that material that seemed to fall down melted as liquid as it was.
“Many times I tried but I feel like laughing, thinking at that time, I used to get close to the oven with the pipe to lift the glass and I was not able to, the heat was too high, the glass would not stick to the pipe: I wander why… I used to tell to myself, I’ll try again tomorrow…”
Then, slowly slowly, I started to manage to do something, the craving for creating was starting, creating anything that gets into your mind. Joy, fear, emotions.
There were the first historical touch with the glass, and my father, realising my passion, starter to making me understand that that material was not to underestimate, telling me to be very careful because when that material is cold it cuts, and when its hot, it burns! Slowly he used to teach me the tricks, giving me tips on the job, so that I starter to understand why so many trials I had done, would have not worked.
It was on the 50s, Murano was in auge, an important chapter of Murano’s history was being written. On those days in fact, the greatest Glazier Masters can be found, such as: Albino Carrara, Ermanno Nason, Aldo Bon but also painters as Pablo Picasso, Fioravante Seibezzi, Ezio Rizzetto, Aldo Bergamini, were all very much related with Murano. How not to mention then the greatest sculptors so in love with the Murano glass’s form of Art: Le Corbusier, Aldo Bergamini, Gino Krayer, Alexander Calder.
Finally my dream was coming true. I got a job in a factory as a trainer to made chandeliers. Then, thanks to a great girnd master, I started to learn how to work the cold glass with the girnd. The old men always used to say to me that the grind was not less important than the kiln. It was his heart.
I tried to made the best of his teaching, without ever say that on my opinion, the idea about the heart was only half true.
I acquired very important experiences at the Gino Cenedese’s firm, where also Prof. Antonio Da Ros used to work, a very esteemed and valuable person for the glassware. Together with him and with the sculpture glazier master Ermanno Nason I had the chance of making my creativity to grow.
I left Murano’s Island in 1979 to move to Marghera, where I finally managed to open a workshop. The Craftsmen’s Association at that time was organising a craft’s exhibition.I participated to the show with some of my works:
Incamiciato vase (crystal with glass cover blue cobalt) spring shape.
Forcola da poppa (scalmo) of the gondola in Murano’s crystal.
Anvil made by piece of special glass (alessandrine) of emerald-green colour under natural light, and violet-red under artificial light.
Murano glass chandeliers of my project, vases and a variety of objects.
Other exhibitions came after, one of the most important was the one in Chiriniago, 12-26 May 1996 at the Tris’s restaurant. After the opening ceremony and the town councillor’s speech at which I was used to, I saw an old face that was looking at me, smiling. He was the old molatore who had come from far away in order to see my sculptures, together with other Glazier Masters. He raved about me telling “ I knew you were going to make it”. And that has been the most important day to me.
